Project Overview
With the completion of the OG&E Coliseum and the demolition of the Jim Norick Arena, it is time to begin connecting the Super Barn to the Coliseum. This is necessary so our equine & livestock show participants have covered access from the prep and warm-up areas to the show ring. Connecting these two areas, on the footprint of the old Norick Arena, will be the Gateway of Champions Promenade. The promenade will house the new Norick Arena (a 120’ x 250’ performance arena with seating for approximately 400 spectators), a 12,500 square foot exhibit hall, two concession stands, and a covered access area for cattle pens and/or movement between the Super Barn and the Coliseum. This additional show ring will allow us to offer our clients four (4) full-size climate-controlled show arenas, something that is not available in any other equine/livestock facility in the region. The promenade will be able to be closed off from the Coliseum, allowing two (2) separate events to take place simultaneously, making OKC Fair Park even more versatile. The projected opening of the Gateway of Champions Promenade is mid-2027.
